[ After crossing the river Styx, which was an altogether uncomfortable reminder of both how many people are dead because of him, and harrowingly foreboding for the deal he came down here for in the first place, Luke adjusts his... well, for the moment he's been calling them bedsheets because apparently he's supposed to wear them but he's never wanted a pair of pants more in his life.
He ducks a spirit sailing past his head and calls out into the halls, ignoring the groans and growls from Cerberus as best as he could. ]
[ Clears his throat-- oh god, his hair is on fire. That's one of the most notably startling things but... Chin up, Luke! You're a god now. That means being... extremely godly and brave. ]
I heard you do deals.
[ Because when Luke isn't surrounded by his friends, he makes smart decisions. Like this! ]
I can't-- while I really want to stay and help these people, I can't stay in good conscience without knowing for sure what happened back home.
[There's a slight knock on the doors of Aphrodite's chambers, oddly timid for someone so usually energetic and fearless. But could anyone blame her? Here was her patron goddess, the being whom she was rumored to be descended from, in the flesh and right behind those doors. Anyone would be nervous in a situation like that!
But! She was a goddess now herself, wasn't she? So what could be the worst thing to happen?]
[ She's reclined on one of her many large sofas. Discarded are scrolls and notes she should be taking responsibility for. She's just as you might imagine her, Minako. Blue eyes, Golden hair that looks like true, spun gold, with light where the sun hit it and darks within the confines of the curls. She looks older than Minako, but still at an unpinnable, immortal age. She dismisses her (attractive) servants and sits up. ]
Minako. I was afraid I would have to hunt you down myself, but you've taken the first step. It's a good quality in a goddess.
[ She has long blue robes that accentuate... well. We're both beings of beauty here. ]
So I've discovered, you are a descendant of mine! It's nice to see my looks keep up even with eons coming and going.
[ She certainly seems amicable, looking her over. She knows Minako's story. Aphrodite did have her slight moments of being ill-tempered, knowing her descendant had her own goddess she answered to, but that thought was pushed out of her mind. This girl was still a leader. ]
[She's speechless at first, mind reeling by the woman in front of her. Artemis has told her many times she had the beauty of this goddess, but...seeing her in person, she didn't know whether to feel incredibly flattered, or to punch the little furball for setting her up on such a pedestal. Aphrodite was gorgeous, stunning, stylish, everything that she HAD envisioned her guardian deity to be, and the fact that she was somehow related to this...it both boosted the ego and short-circuited the mind.
She shook her head slightly, to gather her wits again, and she raises her chin. Aphrodite didn't have some wily nily girl as a descendant, no siree]
It's a leap from being a senshi, I have to admit, but I'm sure I'll be able to get the swing of things soon.
[she chances a little grin, her trademark gutsiness starting to edge it's way back in] After all, I did originate from the best, didn't I?
[and there's brief glance at some of the remaining servants, her eyes hopeful] Besides, if we all get assistants like that, how can I complain?
[it's sort of funny, Zelda thinks, as she stands outside the wisdom goddess's chambers. she'd actually been a goddess herself in a past life—though she'd given up her all-powerful presence to banish the evil from her land, being reborn a mortal in the process. now that the darkness threatening her land and her people has been sealed away for good (or as long as time could tell), she's been promoted to her divine duty yet again. while she does ruminate on the fact that she can't continue her simple life, she... actually feels rather comfortable with this new chapter in her story. was it fate that had brought her here? had she been meant to come back full circle all this time?
...perhaps now isn't exactly the right time to dwell on things like that. raising a hand, she knocks on the door in front of her.]
Miss Athena?
[they may all be gods and goddesses now, but she figures she should still show some respect toward her fellow deities. she doesn't want to overstep any boundaries so early on in her tenure, after all.]
[The door clicks open a bit after the words spoken by the Goddess of Wisdom. Once Zelda enters, she'll find Athena in the main room standing over a large table with a map laid out across it. Upon the map are small figurines of soldiers and creatures of varying colors, though predominantly grey or red. She moves one soldier figurine to a different spot before looking up and settling her gaze on the godling that has sought her out.]
Welcome Zelda Tritogeneia. How may I be of assistance?
[There was a bit of a smile and amusement in the set of her lips and glimmer of her eyes, as if she was enjoying a harmless joke.]
[she smiles warmly as she's let in, bowing her head in slight reverence as she enters the room.]
I was just wondering if you were available for a casual conversation; I'm still trying to get used to... well, everything.
[she waves her hand in reference to the rest of the room—particularly, the map, which catches her eye immediately as she gives everything a once over. she tilts her head with curiosity as she turns her attention back to Athena.]
[ All of this had gone above and beyond Yukina. It was enough that she was a demon, a koorime, but that hardly mattered to her as long as she had those she counted as friends by her side. They treated her equally and fairly with kindness. That was all that she wanted. But here she was now as a goddess. And as a goddess she had absolute no idea what it was she supposed to do or why she was even chosen to begin with.
All of these questions bounced around in her mind to the point where she needed to find someone who could help her to understand. This was how the young demon found herself seeking the company of one of the highest beings the resided here. She lifted a hand curled into a small fist but her knuckles hovered over the door to Aphrodite's chambers as she bit her lower lip.
Was this alright for her to do? Was she allowed to go seeking their audience without asking first? Would she only be a burden upon them? ]
Um...
[ Yukina closed her red eyes and took in a deep breath, forcing herself to stop thinking so many questions. Then, as she cracked open one eye just enough to see, she knocked lightly on the door. ]
[ It's spoken in that Omnipotent voice that knew there was a new goddess hiding behind her doors. As though she didn't require her to actually enter of her own will, her servants open the doors for in a slow creak. She doesn't seem unsettled-- rather, she doesn't even sit up from her generous pile of luxurious pillows and blankets to greet the girl. This position is enough. ]
Please make yourself comfortable. Zeus has entrusted me with the responsibility of answering all your questions should he fail to... which means I'll be speaking to a lot of you, given how helpful he tends to be.
[ Upon seeing the goddess Yukina immediately bowed her head to her, hands clasped together tightly over the front of her attire. ]
Thank you, I hope I am not disturbing you.
[ It was her way of apologizing, despite what Aphrodite had just said. Some habits just don't change easily. Albeit timidly she accepts the offer to sit, picking a comfortable looking pile of plush cushions. Her hands remain on her lap as she peered up at the goddess. ]
I'm afraid that I'm still not quite sure what it is that I'm supposed to do. I've... never been a goddess and I don't believe I'm best suited for such a title.
[ After settling into living here, it turns out this whole thing isn't so bad. And he trusts himself to hold the fort back home, so he's put in quite some effort to build things up here and try to figure out his alpha's plan. In the meantime, he thinks it would probably be best of him to see who his allies are with the gods, which is why he has golden chariots full of flowers for one miss Hera. ]
I would have sent Hermes, but I wanted to have this discussion with you personally.
[ Picks out a few ]
These are all particularly difficult to find in the wintertime, so I think she'll appreciate the reminder of spring.
[ Well, that's hardly a way to leave an impression. But nothing is better than something bad, at least. He leaves the flowers but lingers. He grew the most fragrant and most dazzling, so he's taking his time to arrange them.
He'd never really studied the Greek myths, and even then only from a mortal's perspective. He's not really sure if he likes this new angle, but he thinks he might understand in time, and apparently he has plenty of that. ]
Are they unsatisfactory?
[ The question is almost rhetorical, but he would like to know if he has Zeus's attention, or if this is bothersome. ]
[ Oshino finds this all a little bit funny-- not exactly his idea of a good joke, no, but he can appreciate the lengths that it may have taken for someone (someOne? should that 'o' be capitalized?) to get him here, to make him a God, along with all the bells and whistles.
really, he's not a big believer of the Epics (a Shinto guy, really, but let's not get into details), and he's always been more on the side of a negotiator between Gods and troubled people...
...but he's sure Athena knows that already, and he smiles one of his languid, wide-reaching smiles, an unlit cigarette poised between his lips as he lowers his head and calls to the door. ]
Aah, it feels like I'm at an interview. I suppose I don't have to be too humble, seeing as how I'm a God now, too. But--
[ he tilts his head to the side, while still keeping it bowed. ]
[Athena's voice carries a bit of a chuckle in it as a man carrying a bunch of scroll in his arms lets the godling inside before hurrying off to tend to his duty in her name. The goddess looks up from a scroll in her hand as Oshino enters.]
[ he breathes a laugh and lets himself in, a mess of bleached-blond hair and robes that look oddly secondhand despite his ascension to Godhood... ]
And you're the Goddess of Wisdom, so maybe I can say that I did my homework before coming here.
[ he wiggles the cigarette between his lips, thinking for a moment, resulting in an awkward silence (which isn't really all that awkward to him) that he breaks with another laugh. ]
Hahah! Sorry, it's been a while since I've talked to a God that's in the form of a pretty lady.
[ Being omnipresent meant anyone she wanted to would hear her, right? That's what June thought. Maybe she could talk to someone telepathically! It's not something that she did all the time back when she was still. . . normal, but rather, it was something she wanted to try. Just for fun. ]
[So you wake up one day, find yourself in the extremely breezy equivalent to a man skirt, and get informed you suddenly became a god. What do you do?
If you're Yusuke Urameshi, you immediately head down to the place most familiar to you, which just so happens to be the Underworld. Of course, it's not QUITE the same Underworld he remembers (definitely not the same cute ferrymen on the river, that's for sure), but that doesn't matter right now. What matters is getting some answers.]
HEY, DARK, TALL AND SPOOKY! Get me the bastard in charge if this place!
[Lu Bu was an easy man to please. Sure, he was dead now, dead because of his own failings at that, but he'd become quick to get over after being filled in on his new godhood. The second time, that is. The first time, after discovering he was still "alive," he had caused a bit of a ruckus and the explanation had needed to start over. Lucky thing he was omniescient now; even for someone as impatient as Lu Bu, it made things go a lot faster... once he calmed himself, that is.]
Hades!
[and after stripping himself of that flimsy robe and donning his prized armor, which seemed oddly new feeling, he proceeded to go find a door to bang on. sorry, guy.]
Hades! I've come for a deal! Don't try and hide from Lu Bu, I know you're in there!
[Godhood. Oh, how that word brought back memories. Maybe not the most pleasant ones, but they were memories all the same. The foolish, false illusion of godhood that he experienced as a child could never, ever compare to this. The illusion brought on by the Aqua of the Gods back home was a burden, thinking back; the privilege of being a true god was a greater feeling than Afuro Terumi could ever imagine.
Yet somehow, something still bothered him. There was a faint tugging at the back of his mind that made him uncomfortable. Sure, he was used to people looking up to him (after all, he was a coach... or rather his alpha self was), but followers...? It was a bit mind-blowing to say the least.
That was why he was currently standing outside her chamber doors. She was his namesake those ten years ago; it only felt natural to go to her for advice.
His arms were crossed just below his chest, though rather than out of habit, as per usual, this time it was out of nervousness and mild intimidation. Finally working up the courage, he raised a hand and knocked.]
gimme Hades
He ducks a spirit sailing past his head and calls out into the halls, ignoring the groans and growls from Cerberus as best as he could. ]

[ That was more assertive than he liked. ]
It's... Hades, right? Are you here?
