Anyway, that aside-- I just wanted to ask a simple question. You can choose not to answer, if that's how things work.

There are many potential results of such a motto depending on who or what it is directed at and the views of others. If you want something more specific than just a broad overview, you will need to be more specific or I will choose my own interpretation.
[She raises an eyebrow at that question. Not for the first time she questions her sister's wisdom in her choices.]
In short, your followers are your power base. How you treat that is your own prerogative. Mortals follow gods because they believe in what they stand for, wish their guidance in life and the standards to which the ascribe themselves. The actions you take affect them just as the actions they take, in their own way, affect you.

If you wish to squander your resources by absolving yourself of responsibility, no one will stop you.
Don't get me wrong-- people will believe what they want to believe, regardless of whether or not it's the right thing to believe in. It's all a matter of choosing what they want.
So, now that I'm a God, there's not much I can do if people want to give me offerings and things.

But as for their problems, well. I like to be hands-off with someone's decision-making process, you know? I'm not a fan of telling people how they're supposed to be saved.
[He has a lot to learn about godhood in general, but some things one needed to learn for oneself. Or ask the one that made the ascension decision. Athena would leave that to Aphrodite as she was under no obligation to teach these godlings about what their new existences entail.]
Have you ever seen 'Princess Mononoke'? Maybe that's a bad example, but the Forest Spirit doesn't heal the accursed just because they come to it. It just gives the accursed a reason to try to be healed, and things work out in the end. Does that make sense?
[Of course, it made sense and it was something she could look favorably upon in the right circumstances, but this particular godling was still missing the point.]
